Restorations

Every clock I receive for repair goes through a very thorough overhaul process. Everything is disassembled and all parts are prepared for cleaning.

The movement is cleaned of accumulated grease and dirt in an ultrasonic cleaning machine.

 

All pivots are restored to a high polish using a clockmakers lathe and pivot polishing file.



The movement is examined and all worn pivot holes are bushed.

All other relevant parts are polished and repaired. The movement is then reassembled and tested.

In my 25 years of service in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area, I have been fortunate to work with some very important clocks. Some of the most interesting include the tower clock at Independence Hall as well as the collection of clocks at the Barnes Foundation.
